NATURE CONNECTION

Our world has never been more disconnected; disconnected from nature and disconnected from one another.

Our mission

To inspire people to become more connected to the natural world by providing opportunities to access nature and educational experiences.

WHAT WE OFFER

Set within our rewilding project at Watercress Farm, our free nature connection programme offers people of all ages a unique insight into the natural world.

Unlike traditional education, our programme focuses on connection with nature. From the exploration of our land and wildlife, to the unrestrained joy of self-discovery and collaboration through play.

Be Wild

Schools

Our BE Wild sessions offer schools the perfect opportunity to connect with nature. For classes, we offer up to three visits over the school year for children to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of nature in a way that fosters curiosity and builds a strong sense of belonging. Through this understanding, children will learn to protect nature.

BE Inspired

Schools, higher education and universities

Our BE Inspired sessions focus on the issues that we are passionate about at Belmont. These include themes from tackling climate change and understanding the biodiversity crisis to how we grow our food. BE Inspired sessions are more educational in content but will also include nature connection and exploration of our rewilding site.

Be CLOSER

Schools, charities and community groups

Our BE Closer programme is an immersive nature experience designed for school nurture groups, charities and community organisations. By joining us more frequently people have the opportunity to connect with nature, develop confidence and build a strong sense of wellbeing.

BE Together

family days

During the school holidays, we host BE Together family days where children (5 years and above) can spend time playing and exploring nature with their family.

be connected

adults

Our adult nature connection sessions provide opportunities to switch off from the stresses of modern life and to slow down and relax into nature’s rhythm.

Organisations

Group sessions for charities, community groups and businesses – supporting wellbeing, confidence and a deeper connection to place and purpose.

“I personally thought the session was brilliant and really engaged with the children. We also made the children do a questionnaire with 100% saying they would visit again which is fantastic.”

Community of Purpose

“The students had an amazing time. They’ve come into school today tired out and buzzing about the day; laughing about their memories and asking when they can come back.”

Broadoak Academy

“The children were so happy and fully immersed themselves into the experience. It was magical to watch them have the chance to be totally free in nature.”

Milton Park

“A highlight for me was watching the smiles on their faces as the water went into their wellies and watching a child that usually holds his phone tight put it down and hold his hand out to help another student climb in the stream.”

Hospital School

“There’s something really poetic about seeing the site grow as our students grow. I would love to bring them back to see the change when they are nearing the end of their PhD.”

University of Bristol

“All children and parents have fed back to us that they absolutely loved the experience and were blown away by the setting.”

Hannah More Primary School

“All in all, a great day doing things that simply aren’t possible at our school.”

Avonmouth Primary School

“All children had a wonderful time and experienced something truly special. It is great for them to learn about rewilding and to experience the animals that live at Watercress.”

Clifton High School

“The way in which you engaged, educated and captured the young people’s attention was incredible. A heartfelt thank you for providing an unforgettable experience!”

Break Free Programme

“We had a fantastic time and already talking about returning next year.”

Clutton Primary School

“A brilliant class trip. The children haven’t stopped talking about it since we got back.”

St Andrews Primary School

“It was an inspiring and informative experience, and the project itself was fantastic. Thanks for truly understanding what our group needed and tailoring the day to suit us. Everyone has been talking about how much they enjoyed it.”

South West Police Forensics

“Each session you have provided has been filled with joy, discovery and a sense of freedom that young carers and their parents have discussed how wonderful their time spent at Watercress Farm was. You’ve not only offered them a chance to explore the outdoors, but also the chance to simply be children – to laugh, learn and connect with the natural world.”

Young Carers North Somerset

“Many, many thanks for the day, it was great. Thank you for the support and encouragement throughout the day.”
