The Belmont Estate Land

It’s easy to get captured by the magic of Belmont and an aura of serenity, calm and beauty permeates its every aspect. Comprised of historic parkland and mature heritage woodland, the Grade II* listed land is diverse and attractive.

Enchanting

Throughout the woods remain original Georgian rides cut into the hillside as well as on the plateaux, shored up by stone walls and lined by Yew trees.

Walking them reveals enchanting glimpses of the features of the time (all being renovated) but the life of today’s woodland while a drive up the tree-lined avenue from the entrance at Station Lodge conjures the vision of arriving at Tyntesfield 100 years earlier from the new station at Flax Bourton.

Eye opening

The historic parkland in Bristol supports the delicate eco systems and habitats of a wide range of flora and fauna. At the start of the year the woodland floor is peppered with snowdrops. These make way to a veritable carpet of English bluebells and, in turn, these to an incredible covering of wild garlic.

As the leaves fall from the trees there is an eye opening range of mushrooms and fungi that appear and disappear with every passing week.

Sustainable

Our ethos is one of sustainability and our higher level stewardship programme has preservation and conservation at its heart.

With natural balance uppermost in our minds, we ensure no pesticides or herbicides are used on the land unless absolutely necessary. The philosophy behind all that we do at Belmont is the preservation of harmony with nature and the respect of our natural surroundings. We are Soil Association certified organic.
