Our lovingly restored Carriage House is adjacent to the wonderful Walled Garden. It has four versatile function rooms, terraces both at the entrance and rear, a glass-fronted commercial kitchen and an in-house chef. The Carriage House is a fully flexible space for meetings, events, exhibitions, cooking demonstrations and fine dining and is furnished with tables constructed by hand from estate timber.
Belmont’s Walled Garden had sadly been neglected for many years and was totally transformed with the help and inspiration of renowned landscape architect, Bunny Guinness. Now the home to our organic kitchen garden, the raised beds and heritage fruit trees provide delicious seasonal produce.
This space is surrounded by 15 foot stone walls and built on a slope with incredible panoramic views across the Vale of Bourton, the Bristol Channel and Wales. The Walled Garden boasts a striking tiered amphitheatre that can comfortably accommodate one thousand guests. It is simply a stunning space for performances, open-air theatre, networking events or gatherings.
This re-purposed horticultural heritage building was sympathetically restored in 2019 using the original stone along with timber from fallen trees on the estate.
The Garden Pavilion now offers a unique space for practical experiences such as butchery demonstrations, charcuterie courses and sausage making.
It has a floor-to-ceiling glass-fronted chiller, butcher’s block, oak barrel workstations, reclaimed original Belmont laundry sink and log burner. This space can accommodate up to 16 people. It is situated adjacent to the Walled Garden, near the Carriage House.
The Pear Drop is an historic walled meadow hidden in our ancient woodland. Previously abandoned for decades and invaded by scrub, it has now been sensitively managed to create a wildflower pasture beneath. It has several beautiful mature trees and is surrounded by an 18th century stone wall.
This versatile space is ideal for group reconnection activities in addition to a gathering space for larger bespokely-crafted outdoor events.
Coming in summer 2020, the Indian Pavilion will offer a woodland venue quite unlike any other. The Indian Pavilion comprises several magnificent teak columns reclaimed from Rajasthan built around a large open, wooden deck.
It will be the ideal venue for outdoor meetings, workshops and trainings, woodland yoga, forest bathing, intimate musical performances, forest feasts and other truly magical and memorable events.
